This drawing is a kind of continuation of a drawing I made 3 years ago:
In this first artwork, love was a universal language expressed without words but with what I consider as another universal language, the sign language.
In this new artwork, I wanted to illustrate what I consider as another form of universal language: music. I'm always amazed at the number of people I've met through Myspace, then Facebook and now Twitter just because of a common interest in a band/solo artist. I think 90% of my followers/following are NKOTB related *lol* No matter our difficulties to sometimes understand each others because of the language barrier, once we start talking about our « musical loves », we just get it.
If you've followed some of my drawings this year, you may know that I love NKOTB and this is just another artwork inspired by them because of the reason written just above. Now you may wonder why I've drawn a cassette tape instead of a CD or a MP3 player. Well, the first albums I owned (« True Cool » by David Hallyday) and bought with my little pocket money (« Step by Step » by New Kids On The Block) were cassettes tapes and I still listen to / love both of them. If this drawing was a fanart, the tape would picture the « Step by Step » album but I had to keep it neutral since it's for my Print Shop
